I am a full-time studio artist. The rectilinear Greek key has long been one of my favorite patterns, and when I combined the Greek key with other pieced blocks on my design wall, I started to see objects. Combining the words “graphic” and “symbol,” I created the word “symbographic.” Symbographs have helped me develop a language for telling stories in cloth. Lately I have added 3d work into my repertoire.

My home is in the gold country of northern California, but I really enjoy traveling. I like to say I am fortunate to have friends who move to exotic places just so I can visit them. Memories of these travels, along with objects of everyday life, make appearances in my art. Deb Cashatt

In addition to my solo work, I was one half of the fiber art duo Pixeladies for 20 years. Both Pixeladies’ and my solo artwork have been published and juried into national and international exhibitions.
