Artists in Residence: Art in the Time of the Pandemic

The SAQA Local Connections group for the Greater Sacramento/Foothills Region issued a call to artists from our Northern California and Nevada region for a non-juried showcase exhibit for art quilts made during the pandemic. The exhibit of forty 12″ x 12″ art quilts opened at the Blue Line Arts Gallery in Roseville, CA on November 20, 2020. See images of the individual quilts on the Feature Foyer Gallery page.

This exhibit focuses on work inspired as a result of the pandemic and explores how artists have grappled with sheltering at home, for example social distancing, isolation, loss, grief and the opportunities for more intense creative expression made possible by the slower pace of life.
